So I've gotten through about the first third of World War Z - shaping up to be a rather quick read, but a very good one. Seemingly a bit disjointed at first, seeing as it's primarily comprised of brief (5-10 pages at most) accounts from survivors, but it's really starting to gel together into something much more comprehensive and, more importantly, kind of terrifying. But anyway, seeing as I will probably be finished with it by this weekend, it's best I pick my next read sometime soon, and right now I'm heavily leaning towards Q.
Historical fiction? The Reformation? Highly recommended by Thom Yorke? I am so fucking there. Another interesting fact about the book - the author's name, Luther Blissett, is a nom de plume used by hundreds of European and South African artists since 1994. The real Luther Blissett is a former player for AC Milan, and as he was one of the first black footballers to play for an Italian team it has been suggested that the appropriation of his name may be a statement about right-wing extremism in the country (Q was originally published in Italian). Anyway, moving away from this discourse, while this will probably be my next choice (assuming, of course, that the god awful MLK library doesn't fuck up my hold like they have so many times in the past), I'm highly encouraging the scant few that read this blog to make recommendations, especially if it's historical fiction, cause that shit makes my loins tingle. And speaking of things that make my loins tingle, that cover art is fucking sweet!
