too hungover for blogging pt. 2

The last post got me thinking about instances of homoeroticism in Metal Gear Solid, so I thought I'd post the below video. MGS1 provides the player with two possible endings - enduring an onslaught of torture (natch) while subdued and shirtless (double natch) nets you the "happy" ending where you escape with Meryl ("the girl"), while giving in gives you the "sad" ending, in which Meryl dies and you escape with the nerdy scientist Hal Emmerich, aka Otacon. It is of course this "sad" ending that's loaded with homoerotic subtext - it's pretty long, but you can skip ahead to the last three minutes or so for the really good stuff. I feel I should add that I first saw this ending in 1998 when I was 15 years old, and looking at it now from a more mature, worldly perspective, it's even gayer than I remember. Enjoy!
