fuck the east coast, or keepon keepin on

Why must I be here, on the stupid East Coast, working and doing other dumb shit, when I could be on the opposite side of the country at the Wired NextFest, enjoying, among other things, various and sundry robots, wacky technology, and a mother fucking jetpack! But most of all, I really hate that I missed the performance by Spoon accompanied by what is inarguably the most adorable robot on the planet, the Keepon. Check out the video:

Oh wait, there isn't a video, even though it happened several days ago and I'm sure was attended by a gaggle of digicam bearing nerds - WTF? Oh well, guess we'll have to settle with what's already out there:





Seriously, how fucking adorable is that thing? I would express a desire to hug it, but it's probably all hard and rife with corners on its innards, so light pawing would have to suffice.

UPDATE: Eureka! Well, sort of. I've managed to locate pictures of the Keepon at the NextFest, and while not with Spoon, there is one with a pretty lady in it.

Question: what's up with the Wiimote?
