another killer on the dancefloor

I've been downloading a shit ton of new music in the past couple of weeks, thanks to the killer resource that is nodata.tv, and a lot of it is totally awesome. Below are the standouts, each with a link to download the entire thing (just click the title). Expect more of these posts in the future as long as my hard drive holds out.

  • Metronomy, Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe): super sweet UK synth-pop, awesomely unique
  • Cloetta Paris, Secret Eyes: worth mentioning again, delicious Swedish Italo-disco, think Robyn meets Sally Shapiro
  • autoKratz, Down & Out In Paris & London: UK dirty techno, worth the download just to here the amazing “Reaktor”
  • Hybrid, I Choose Noise: very British, very cinematic, bastard child of Massive Attack and Underworld
  • Fukkk Offf, Rave Is King EP: another one worth mentioning twice, dirty dirty techno, listen to it LOUD
  • Apparat Organ Quartet, Apparat Organ Quartet: quirky, bizarre synth-pop/rock, even more bizarre that it’s the brainchild of Johann Johannsson (Icelandic composer of Englabörn, VirĂ°ulegu Forsetar, and IBM 1401, A User’s Manual, all strikingly different from this and all also worthy of downloading)
  • Late of the Pier, "Space and the Woods"/"Focker": British electro-rock, whole album isn’t that great, but these two tracks are sick
  • Tiger Baby, Noise Inside Me: Danish synth-pop, like a dancier Ladytron, googling them produces precious pictures of baby tigers
  • Burial, South London Boroughs EP: it’s Burial, just download it
  • The Field, Sound of Light: see above
  • Jahcoozi, Blitz 'n Ass: another worth mentioning twice, Berlin electro, fronted by the awesome Sasha Perera (if you haven’t heard her track with Modeselektor, “Silikon”, then you are doing yourself a great disservice)
  • M.A.N.D.Y., 12 Great Remixes for 11 Great Artists 2001-2007: I fail to believe that anyone didn’t like this Berlin electro-house group’s song with Booka Shade, “Body Language”, so it really can’t hurt to check out their remixes, eh?
  • Mad Decent, Top Ranking Mixtape: Santogold, Diplo, a precious skit with Mark Ronson, nuff said
And I'd like to take a moment to thank the staff at nodata.tv for providing me with an endless supply of great music, both new and old. You guys fucking rock!
