cry indeed

You know, I was both excited and nervous about the upcoming sequel to The Lost Boys - on the one hand, it's the sequel to a movie that I loved and that was a quintessential facet in the development of my love of horror movies, but on the other hand, it's the sequel to a movie that I loved and whose reputation I'd rather not have some two-bit hack take a shit on. But now that the trailer's been released?

Now I've lost any glimmer of hope I've had for it living up to the original or even being a half-decent vampire flick. Note to producers: the inclusion of the two Coreys and the half-brother of Kiefer Sutherland does not a sequel make. I'd say the only thing I enjoyed about the trailer was the inclusion of a snippet of "Cry Little Sister", which is pretty much the only thing it has common with the original. Go figure.

I may have to rent Lost Boys this weekend. Or i could just watch American Werewolf in London and wax equally nostalgic.
