Remember Chris Hardwick? He of the seminal 90s dating show Singled Out? Well, IMHO, he was kind of cute back then, especially when I had to pretend to be even somewhat attracted to Jenny McCarthy while focusing my true desires on her witty, irreverent and kind of hot cohost. True fans of questionable dating shows will also remember him from Shipmates, though somewhere between those two bastions of romance he kind of fattened up, and greased up, and, well, kind of sleazed up, to the point where he wasn't that attractive anymore. Since then I pretty much forgot about him, excepting a turn in the criminally underrated House of 1000 Corpses. Until now.
Yes, he's back, and of all the places to end up after MTV, assorted late night networks and a Rob Zombie gorefest, he's on PBS, hosting a show that for some reason I have yet to TiVo: Wired Science. And yes, he's totally cute again, his attractiveness further buoyed by being associated, however indirectly, with what's arguably one of the best magazines around and certainly my favorite. And so concludes the longest, and the only, thing I've ever written about Chris Hardwick.
