My favorite track from (spoiler!) one of my favorite albums of 2007 has been, surprise surprise, butchered by MTV. Apparently in a bid to make the song more "family-friendly" some idiot - or, much more likely, a committee of idiots - decided to edit out the gunshot sound effects from M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes", successfully removing one of the coolest elements of the song. Hey douchebags, might as well go all the way and take out the Clash sample as well, seeing as you're pretty much deadset in ruining what is easily one of the best songs released this year. You people suck. And just for the fuck of it, I've posted below the video in all of its unedited, slightly-cropped-by-blogger surrounded-by-unsightly-large-gray-border-by-blogger glory. Enjoy!
