Below is a list of the 25 albums released this year that got the most play on my itunes/ipod. As you'll notice there's no ranking here, only a straightforward alphabetical list that I've posted in hopes of compelling me to create a definitive, ranked version, (hopefully) complete with blurbs and mp3s. I've got a good idea of my top 5 or so - if you don't know what my number 1 is already our friendship is effectively over - but the rest I've got to do a good deal of thinking on. And note that a few of the albums - Back to Black, We Are the Pipettes, and Disco Romance - were released internationally in 2006 but since they didn't make it stateside, and since I didn't really get into them, until this year (excepting The Pipettes, who failed to break the top 10 on last year's shorter list) I've considered them eligible here. Anyway, expect the completed list sometime this week, and in the meantime, hate yourself if you haven't heard any of them.
